UBEC Prioritizes Workplace Safety: Executive Secretary Aisha Garba Champions Development of Comprehensive OHSE Policy and Procedure Manual

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has taken a decisive step toward promoting a safer and healthier work environment. Under the leadership of Executive Secretary Aisha Garba, the Commission has convened a four-day workshop aimed at developing a comprehensive Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) policy and procedure manual.

Key Objectives of the Workshop:
• Critically review, refine, and finalize the UBEC Safeguard Team’s draft submission
• Identify potential workplace health and safety hazards and propose mitigation strategies
• Ensure alignment with national and international OHSE laws and standards
• Establish robust systems for auditing, reporting, and continuously improving OHSE performance
• Develop a tailored OHSE policy and procedures manual in line with global best practices
