ICPC Inaugurates Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit to Strengthen Integrity at UBEC

On October 23, 2024, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) formally inaugurated the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) at the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). This unit was established to reinforce transparency, promote accountability, and combat corruption within UBEC’s operations. At the inauguration ceremony, ICPC representatives emphasized the significance of the ACTU in fostering a culture of integrity and ethical standards within the education sector. The unit is expected to work closely with UBEC leadership to implement anti-corruption policies, conduct regular compliance audits, and provide ongoing awareness training for staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in public service management.
