UBEC and NTI Launch Nationwide Training for Smart School Teachers to Enhance Blended Learning in Classrooms

On October 23, 2023, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), inaugurated a nationwide training program for UBE Smart School teachers, focused on fostering attitudinal change to support the effective implementation of blended learning in classrooms. Dr. Bobboyi was joined by the Director/CEO of the National Teachers Institute (NTI), Prof. Musa Garba Maitafsir, and UBEC’s National Coordinator of the Digital Resource Center, Prof. Bashir Galadanci, along with other UBEC and NTI management officials, for the national flag-off ceremony held in Kano State.

This training program includes 195 participants from various geopolitical zones: North Central (Benue, Kwara, and Niger States) in Lafia, Nasarawa State; Northeast (Adamawa and Bauchi States) in Adamawa State; Northwest (Kano, Katsina, and Kaduna States) in Kano State; and the Southern region (Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, and Cross River States) at the University of Ibadan in Oyo State. The sessions are being conducted concurrently across these four zones to comprehensively equip teachers for the demands of blended learning in the classroom.

Dr. Danjuma Adamu Dabo – Rep. North East

Dr. Danjuma hails from Bauchi State. He obtained M.Sc Public Administration and Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja, MBA form Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Ph.D Economics from the Loughborough University, UK.
